ECM Casa V

Description

The Casa V is based on the same design philosophy as many other single-boiler espresso machines. Essentially it is a miniature version of bigger café machines. The heavy-duty 58 millimetre portafilter is comparable to professional machines worth thousands of euros.

Compared to the competition ECM:s smallest machine takes this concept to another level, with details that are usually found only in “prosumer” grade equipment.

The first thing you notice is the overall sense of quality. From the highly polished, stainless steel exterior to the inside edges of the deep and easy to use drip tray, this is a very well-built machine.

The Casa V is furthermore equipped with a pressure gauge and an easily adjustable over pressure valve. This adds versatility and gives you important feedback on the quality of your shot of espresso.

The single boiler means that the temperature needs to be raised/lowered in between making espresso and steaming milk. Thanks to the strong 1200 watt element this phase is quite short, switching to steaming mode takes about a minute. From cold the machine is ready to use within about ten minutes.

For a household where 1-2 people regularly drink both espresso and cappuccino, the performance of the Casa V is more than adequate.
